Finnish gazebos – we set up a place for barbecue and grilling. DIY gazebo project with grill, photos, drawings DIY grill house step by step instructions project

Cooking meat over coals inside a gazebo - is this an interesting idea for a summer house? How many similar buildings, with a grill equipped inside, have you seen among your acquaintances and friends?

The approach to relaxing indoors with an open fire takes its history from the territory of Finland, where in ancient times people folded houses and warmed themselves by the fireplace indoors. In modern times, the name of such closed gazebos remains the same - “Finnish houses”.

Grill gazebo or Finnish house- a closed gazebo with a fireplace and a chimney in the center, inside which you can simultaneously relax with a group of people and cook meat over an open fire.

This publication collected interesting photographs of gazebos with grills that you can install in your summer cottage. Thanks to the simple design and proven assembly system, you will not have any difficulties with construction or installation - a team of professionals can always help you.

In addition, I would like to announce some prices of Finnish grill houses, because this issue is quite relevant among those interested in such buildings.

You always want to start with the simplest “economy” class buildings, since in most cases they are quite sufficient for a comfortable family vacation or gatherings of a small group of people.

All buildings are distinguished by a pleasant aesthetic appearance and modern design - the materials used, although cheap in most cases, are at least beautiful. Therefore, you will be able to impress your guests without any problems.

The design of the benches allows you to be both away from the fire and close - part of the bench folds up. If you wish, you can even lie down, if the number of people indoors allows.

A standard grill gazebo is designed for a group of 6 people, but 4 people can comfortably eat, and 8 people can sit indoors without any problems. In this regard, the design is quite flexible and can satisfy the needs of both small and large groups of people.

More expensive, bigger, more elite

Unlike classic gazebos, Finnish ones differ from each other only in size and some features in terms of design.

If an ordinary structure, depending on the price tag, can be transformed as long and radically as desired, then the grill lags behind in this regard.

The external shape rarely differs from the classic hexagonal one, but this example (photo shown above) shows that this building can be modified.

The structure looks impressive, although other than the roof, no expensive building materials are used here.

Several options for a summer residence are given in the slider below (photos can be switched).

I didn’t find any more unique and original solutions; in the catalog of construction companies you can look at some branded options that they offer specifically.

How much do Finnish grill gazebos cost?

Prices start from 200 thousand rubles. Depending on the shape and size, prices will increase proportionally. Frankly large grill houses will cost around 450-500 thousand rubles.

Price about 500 thousand rubles

The example presented is the “best” I’ve seen:

  • Material: profiled timber.
  • Capacity: up to 25 people.
  • Square: about 27 sq. meters.
  • Roof: soft tiles.
  • Weight of the structure: 500 kg.
  • Foundation: pile-screw or concrete slab;
  • Dimensions: 7 m by 3.7 m, height - 3 m.

Drawing of a classic Finnish uniform

Below is a drawing of a grill house with dimensions. Perhaps some of the interested people will find this moment interesting, because with its help you can estimate the required area for a given building.

Cooking meat outdoors is one of the most popular ways to relax in a summer cottage. Most people use a barbecue. We recommend paying attention to Finnish gazebos - structures with an elegant appearance, which provide all the conditions for a good rest. Cooking meat over coals indoors is more convenient and cozy.

A Finnish house is a closed structure, inside of which there is a fireplace and a chimney. Gatherings with friends fit perfectly here; this pastime is often combined with cooking over an open fire.

Externally, the grill house looks impressive - it is a full-fledged building with individual architecture. Most people buy a ready-made structure, but in order to save money, you can build the structure yourself. The grill-gazebo will not only be a place to relax, but will also decorate the landscape design of the dacha.

A characteristic feature of the design is the presence of a frying hearth inside. This creates a special atmosphere of comfort, because even bad weather conditions will not interfere with grilling shish kebab.

From this video you will learn how to install a barbecue grill in a Finnish gazebo with your own hands.

What to build from

What material to use to build a structure depends on the result you want to get. Grill houses need a solid foundation; it is best to make it from reinforced concrete, using reinforcing mesh to strengthen it. Professionals note that it is better to spend money on a good foundation and save on further work. A reliable foundation is a guarantee of the durability of the structure. The choice of material for the base depends on the characteristics of the soil.

The frame of the building is assembled from wood; less often, a stone gazebo is erected. The first option looks more aesthetically pleasing, but there is a risk of the material catching fire. Bricks are more durable and look great, but their price leaves much to be desired.

An important component of the gazebo is the grill. For its construction you will need heat-resistant brick.

Walls are built from different materials, usually wood, stone, brick, and foam concrete are used. The material must be wear-resistant, beautiful in appearance and retain heat in the room, which will allow it to be used even in cold weather. The gazebo made of adobe looks interesting. If you choose wood, you first need to build a frame on which the material will be subsequently installed.

Slate, metal profiles, tiles or wood are used for roofing. If the structure is lighter, a polycarbonate canopy or awning will be great.

House on your own

In order not to buy a ready-made structure, you can build it yourself. First you need to draw up a project, take into account the dimensions of the gazebo and the features of its interior. This will help you decide on the amount of material, and it will be much better to act according to the developed algorithm. Also, don't forget to prepare your tool.

To build a hexagonal roof, we need a rafter system to fit the shape of a tent. In the middle of the roof you need to leave space for the chimney. Because of this, the rafters are attached to a manufactured hexagon made of timber with a side of 29 cm.

It is easier to assemble the rafter system on the ground alone. We fasten the prepared six rafters from the board with metal corners to the hexagon, and make cuts on them for optimal shrinkage on the top trim. We raise the rafters and fasten them. Next, we perform the sheathing with 4x4 cm timber.

You should end up with approximately the following layers:

  • rafter;
  • vapor barrier film;
  • insulation;
  • waterproofing;
  • OSB board;
  • underlay carpet;
  • roofing material.

There are various materials available for sale that are used as roof coverings.

Floor

If the gazebo is made of wood, then you don’t have to bother much with the floors. In this case, we lay the tiles on the foundation. Only in this design it will be quite cool in winter.

When building a closed house, there is another option. We make the base of the floor from wooden beams, then lay boards or chipboards. All that remains is to lay linoleum or lay out the covering with non-slip tiles. Clinker tiles can be used for internal and external surfaces.

Bake

A fireplace for frying is an essential component of a Finnish gazebo. It is better to buy a grill or barbecue already assembled; choosing it should not be difficult. In addition, it is made in accordance with fire safety standards. Often the kit includes a table top, a set of fasteners, etc.

We mount the lower cabinet in the center on the floor tiles. We attach the chimney to the hexagon to which the ends of the rafters are connected. We connect the exhaust bell to the upper pipe.

Finishing

To emphasize the original look of the grill house, it is important to pay due attention to its decoration. Wooden benches will successfully complement the interior; the seats can be decorated with blankets and pillows.

The Finnish house is the case where the flight of imagination is unlimited. You can change the appearance of the structure both inside and outside.

Classic ways to emphasize the design of a gazebo: paint, install furniture and a washbasin, hang pictures, etc.

The grill house is more than just a place for grilling meat. The gazebo conveys a special atmosphere of comfort, one feels unity with nature.

The warm and comfortable room will become your favorite place to relax, because here in any season you can drink a glass of wine with friends, grill a barbecue and look at the starry sky.

In many gardens you can see light covered buildings made of metal, stone or wood, either in the form of an open canopy with a table and benches under a wide roof, or with walls made of trellises and climbing plants. All this is where it is difficult to find protection from strong winds, especially if the squall is accompanied by rain. The same applies to the barbecue area; it is also usually simply covered with a canopy. Therefore, far-sighted owners, having foreseen the possibility of surprises from the weather, install Finnish gazebos on their plots, which are also sometimes mistakenly called grill houses.

The design of these secluded recreational buildings is quite simple. The basis is a platform paved with stone or filled with concrete. The building has the shape of a polyhedron with eight or six corners, where the corresponding number of supports are located. This is the traditional form of such summerhouses. The walls are always insulated, but most of their area is occupied by double-glazed windows. There is a door on one side of such a building. A hipped multi-pitched roof is laid on top. A chimney is installed in the center of the roof; a small ventilation hole must be made in one of the walls.

The furnishings in such a gazebo for a summer residence can be arbitrary, but most often a barbecue oven or grill is installed near the wall opposite the door or right in the center. Many people confuse these two cooking devices, but there is a difference between them: the first is intended for cooking in hot air heated to 120 degrees, the second is for frying over an open fire. Very often, the oven in the center is combined with a tabletop surrounding it, and benches are placed around it under the walls, which allows you to place up to a dozen people around the cooking area, and in a spacious room, even more.

How to make a Finnish barbecue gazebo with your own hands

The first and most important thing to take care of is a flat area with a fairly hard surface. This may be a well-compacted gravel or sand base, a paved area, or a cast-in-place concrete foundation. A pipe is drawn from the edge to the center under the platform for draft in the furnace. Next, the horizontal beams are used to make up the load-bearing part of the frame with six or eight corners, on which vertical supports are simultaneously installed. In the upper part, crossbars are laid in the same way, connecting the tops of the pillars with a closed polyhedron. If no more glazing is planned, you can install additional crossbars in the middle for strength, but do not cover one side.

Timber pre-treated with fire retardants is best connected with angles, straight and T-shaped metal plates using long screws.

You can immediately install the rafter legs by placing them on the crossbars along the tops of the supports and connecting them in the middle with a small polygon made of metal or scraps of timber. Next, you can lay the floor by first laying the logs; usually deck boards are used for the covering. We install window frames and doors. We cover the roof with lathing and provide thermal insulation, then a moisture-proof membrane and, finally, roofing material under which roofing felt can be placed. In the center of the roof we attach a chimney with a deflector or umbrella for protection from weather conditions.

Lathing is placed on the walls, on top of which insulation is laid, all cracks are closed using polyurethane foam, and then the internal and external cladding is installed. OSB or siding can be used as an external wall covering; the interior decoration is best done with clapboard. It is easiest to lay soft roofing felt tiles on the roof, but many prefer metal roofing, so that when it rains you can hear the sound of drops on the roof, for greater comfort.

Grilling is more comfortable in Finnish gazebos

The main goal that owners pursue when improving their dachas by building grill houses is, of course, creating a comfortable place to relax in any weather. It’s not for nothing that these light Finnish gazebos are so reminiscent of traditional Lapland tents, in which reindeer herders feel warm and comfortable near the fireplace located in the middle, even in a snow storm. The building with large glazing is least adapted to frost, which distinguishes it from the grill house with small windows, which is common in Finland, where, with good insulation, you can even accommodate guests who arrive in the middle of winter.

As already mentioned, it is best to place the stove right in the middle, based on the fact that the chimney is located exactly in the center of the hipped roof. This makes it more convenient to install an exhaust bell above the fireplace. The fire is eventually ignited directly on a raised platform in the center of the table, where the grate of the brazier is located. In a small room there is only room for benches around the perimeter, in a spacious room you can install a couple of tables or a long dining table, as well as a sofa or sofa for greater comfort. For ease of cooking, you can install a universal grill and barbecue, which will be a particularly good solution for a small cottage.

Every dacha owner dreams of a convenient and multifunctional grill, which will allow you not only to cook various dishes over an open fire, but also to smoke meat, fish, poultry, and homemade sausages. You can make a small brick, stone, metal grill or a spacious grill house with your own hands if you put in some effort and purchase the necessary materials and tools.

Grill - general design

In its design, the grill resembles a box with a lid, which is made of heat-resistant materials, for example: concrete blocks, refractory bricks, as well as stone or metal. The shape of the grill is a deep frying “barrel”, which ensures ideal roasting of food on all sides due to the maximum temperature of the coals. The lower part is for fuel, and the upper part is for storing food. There are holes with flaps in the bottom and cover of the device body that serve to regulate the flow of air that flows inside. But there are other types of grills: gas and electric, which do not require a chimney or solid fuel.

Device height

The installation height of the grill can be determined based on the comfort of use, as well as safety measures. The gratings are installed at a height convenient for humans. If it is a brick structure, then they should be at a height of approximately the 10th stack of bricks from ground level. If the grates are positioned higher, it will be inconvenient to cook food, and placing coals close to your face can lead to burns.

In standard devices, the coal tray, together with the grates, rests on brick protrusions or special metal rods, which are installed in the masonry. Also, the grill mounting design must provide for the ability to quickly remove these additional elements, which are dismantled for the winter. This will help protect metal parts from corrosion.

Additional grill equipment and its design

In the design of the grill, it is necessary to make the correct draft so that the smoke does not go into the room, but goes out into the chimney pipe. When planning the grill structure, you will need a drawing of the working surfaces and additional shelves.

It is necessary to determine the place where the plates and coal supply will be located. Brushes, tongs, spatulas and other utensils can be stored on hooks installed on the side wall of the grill.

The design characteristics of the grill provide thermal action and permeation of food with smoke, as well as smoking them.

This device additionally serves as a smokehouse, and therefore has a more complex design.

How is it different from barbecue and barbecue?

With the onset of summer, we go to the dacha to relax, work and eat delicious kebabs and smoked fish. It will be very easy to prepare food if you have a grill, barbecue or barbecue at hand. Let's look at how these devices differ from each other and how they are similar.

  1. The grill looks like a metal rectangular box with high legs. Food (meat, fish, vegetables) is skewered on skewers and placed on the grill parallel to each other. Dishes are cooked using smoldering coals. To improve draft during cooking and provide the grill with better air flow, you need to periodically fan the coals. The advantage of the barbecue is its ease of use and low price.
  2. A barbecue is a more complex and advanced design as manufacturers often upgrade it with numerous features. In the device you can bake pies, heat up dishes, smoke, stew and fry. There are gas, electric and coal. In a barbecue, food is cooked on a grill.
  3. The grill has no obvious differences in design from the barbecue, and some see them as identical. Although there is still one difference - the presence of a lid on the grill (thermal exposure occurs from all sides), so the food in it is cooked more evenly. The lid of the device also makes it possible to saturate dishes with smoke. The main element is a wire rack with wire and wooden handles that allow you to firmly hold food while cooking.

Preparing for the construction of a grill: design drawings, dimensions

The process of building a grill will require a lot of responsibility. The first step is to decide on the grill design and its dimensions.

At the moment, there are a huge number of modern PC programs that allow you to create a 3D model of a structure. Therefore, if you have basic skills in working with programs, then use them. If there are no such possibilities, then the project can be drawn up on plain paper.

The design must take into account the most important design requirements. The optimal grill sizes may be:

The choice and quantity of material for constructing a grill with your own hands

The grill can be built from various materials depending on the dimensions of the structure and its type (portable or stationary). Let's look at several grill options that are most popular today.

The grill can be equipped from a gas cylinder:

A brick grill will require additional skills during installation, but it has a number of advantages:

Grill house

The Finnish grill house is the most convenient and comfortable option for a summer house with a large area.

To build such a structure we will need:

  • insulation (can be made of mineral wool);
  • high-quality lining;
  • door and double glazed windows;
  • washers with nuts according to the size of the holes;
  • polyurethane foam (several cylinders);
  • chimney, as well as smoke collector;
  • gravel is medium in size;
  • river sand (preferably not washed);
  • any curb stone;
  • small paving slabs (if the floor is not wooden);
  • crushed stone;
  • OSB board (best waterproof);
  • plastic pipe with a diameter of 18 cm for blowing;
  • "Pinotex" is a special product intended for processing wood;
  • edged board for making a roof frame 50x100 mm;
  • timber with a section of 80x80 mm, 1.5 meters long and 100x100 mm, 2.5 m long - 6 pieces;
  • tiles (bitumen, soft, natural) for roofing or metal tiles;
  • windproof film;
  • additional elements for decorating the building.

Stages of building a grill house with your own hands

The Finnish grill house is a whole complex of hexagonal shape with a pyramidal elongated roof, as well as a general closed structure.

  1. To begin, we select a round area and remove part of the soil from it with all the existing roots of plants and trees.
  2. We fill the site sequentially with three layers of materials: crushed stone, the next layer is sand and the final layer is fine gravel.
  3. We lay in advance a plastic pipe intended for blowing.
  4. We compact all layers tightly and begin reinforcing the concrete screed. We leave a place in the center where the pipe will be laid in the shape of the letter “P”.

    It is necessary to determine the functional purpose of the dacha structure immediately before the start of construction

  5. We install a slatted floor made of wood or paving slabs. Along the edges of the inner perimeter of the house we install curbstones for additional safety.
  6. The next type of work is the manufacture of the frame. To do this, we install six support beams with a cross-section of 100x100 mm and a length of 2.5 meters.
  7. Next, we perform a horizontal connection of the main beams using 80x80 beams 1.5 meters long. We repeat this connection in 3 places: first at the bottom, then in the middle and at the top. After such actions, carefully measure the angle between the elements that were secured with a square. Optimally, each angle should be 60 degrees (a deviation of 1 or 2 degrees is allowed). Next, you need to fasten the bars: use an electric drill to make holes, and then insert self-tapping screws and metal corners into them.
  8. We assemble the roof frame. We use prepared boards with a section of 50x100 mm. The finished base of the structure should have 6 identical corners. And the internal diameter completely corresponds to the pipe of the device. As a roof connection we use an edged board with an identical cross-section.
  9. We insulate the roof with mineral wool, and put a windproof film on top. We make the roof from natural or soft tiles. You can use reeds or straw mats for roofing.
  10. The entire structure is sheathed inside with clapboard or other cladding lumber, and on the outside with moisture-resistant OSB boards and decorative wood panels (siding, wooden boards or clapboard for exterior use).
  11. We insulate the middle layer between the walls with mineral wool or other heat-insulating material.
  12. We install wooden or metal-plastic windows and doors.
  13. The surface of the house (if it is wooden) is treated with glazing fire retardants, which will protect the structure from rot, mold and bark beetles.
  14. We cover the ceiling with clapboard. Leave a hole for the chimney in the center of the house as shown in the photo.

In the center we install a Finnish grill, which can be bought in a specialized store.

You can build a Finnish grill with your own hands. Since a brick grill is a lightweight structure, we need a small foundation. We prepare the following materials:

  • premium-grade refractory and facing bricks;
  • fireclay brick for firebox;
  • cement for the foundation (grade 100 is possible);
  • river sand for mortar;
  • gravel;
  • boards for formwork;
  • roofing felt or tar for insulation;
  • reinforcement for the foundation.

Tools:

  • rubber hammer;
  • trowel and set of tools for laying ready-made mortar;
  • plumb line and level for measuring horizontal and vertical walls;
  • template for a semicircular arch;
  • grinder with diamond cutting discs and grinding wheels;
  • saw for cutting bricks.

Stages of constructing a Finnish grill

We build a Finnish grill ourselves:

  1. We mark the foundation using pegs and twine.
  2. We dig a hole in the center of the gazebo, but leave a small margin of 5 cm wide and 30 cm deep.
  3. We fill the bottom with slag and tamp it thoroughly.
  4. We arrange formwork around the entire perimeter of the grill, and place reinforcing metal inside.
  5. We mix the concrete and pour it into the formwork, then wait a day for it to harden.
  6. We make a screed, let it dry, and lay roofing felt or other waterproofing material on top.
  7. We decide on the shape and size of the openings for the grill. Corners are needed for rectangular openings that will serve as lintels. A wooden template is made for the arched vault.
  8. Using the hardened mortar, we make half-brick masonry, leaving openings. Their height should be 60 cm if the opening is arched (with a rectangular one 80 cm). We lay a brick with strapping around the entire perimeter so that the height of the grill is about 1 meter.
  9. The second brick tier includes the walls of the grill and its firebox, which are made of half a brick.
  10. To construct the firebox, we take several types of bricks. We line the bottom of the grill and the inside with fireproof material, and make the outer masonry from ordinary white or red brick. The result should be 2 rows. The firebox should have an opening height of 7 brick rows. The laying of a rectangular arch involves about 9 rows. The depth of the element is 60 cm and its width is 70 cm.
  11. We lay about three rows of bricks above the opening. Then we make a pipe, which is a narrower element, which means there is a need to shorten all sides of the firebox. Subsequent rows for all walls are reduced by 1⁄4 of the length of the brick, for side rows this will be half the width of the brick. In this way we lay out 7 rows and form a narrow pipe.
  12. Next, we lay out 14 rows only straight.
  13. The entire masonry should stand for several days until the cement mortar dries completely.
  14. We install wide benches along the wall, which can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people.

How to make your own smoker grill

A steam locomotive or smoker grill is a multifunctional but complex structure that combines a barbecue, a smokehouse and a grill. But even such a seemingly complex device at first glance can be made with your own hands.

To make a smoker grill we need the following materials and tools:

  • barrel;
  • loops;
  • bolts;
  • nuts;
  • wooden handle;
  • metal pipe or angle;
  • wooden lining, WPC or treated boards;
  • gratings;
  • welding machine;
  • Bulgarian.

Stages of making a smoker grill

If you are using an old barrel, bake it thoroughly before preparing food for the first time.

  1. We cut the barrel into two parts lengthwise using a grinder. Since they will turn out to be the same, one of them will become a container for fuel, and the second will become the upper part.
  2. We connect the base of the structure and the cover with two loops using bolts. We drill a hole with a drill.
  3. We secure the wooden handle to the lid with a bolt tie. Its length should be no more than 50 cm, and we will adjust the distance between the base and the handle with several nuts.
  4. We make the frame: its length should be approximately 30 cm greater than the length of the barrel itself, its height should be 80 cm, and its width should be 5 cm less than the diameter of the barrel. We fasten the frame elements with bolts and nuts. In this case, you can use a welding machine.
  5. After the metal frame has been made, we install the already made barrel on top and make wooden tabletops around it.
  6. Next, take 2 grates of different sizes. We place the smaller one on the bottom of the grill, since it is intended for fuel, and we place the second one above the coals on top - food will be laid out on it. We make stops for it using thick bolts, which we screw around the entire perimeter of the grill.
  7. The smoker grill is ready. You can make a multi-level option. To do this, you need to take another barrel, only a smaller one, which will serve as kindling for coals and weld it to the main barrel, only a little lower (ladder principle). The rest of the device is made in the same way as described above.

Any type of grill will be a decoration for your area and a place to relax. A grill house built with your own hands will serve you for many years if you strictly followed all the stages of its assembly and observed all safety measures. With proper care, regular treatment of all wooden elements of the house with antiseptic agents, updating the varnish, as well as cleaning the grill and chimney, this design will last for decades and you will be able to gather with the whole family even on cold winter days around the fire and cook your favorite dishes , as well as treat them to your friends and acquaintances.

Arranging grill houses with your own hands is becoming increasingly popular among modern owners of suburban areas. To prepare food in the fresh air, you can comfortably use barbecue houses with ovens for family or friendly gatherings with delicious barbecue. Due to climatic conditions in Russia, good weather arrives late, and even in winter there are severe frosts. The installation of Finnish barbecue grills comes to the rescue here, so vacationers in the country can comfortably and profitably solve the problem of leisure at any time of the year.

To build a grill house with your own hands, you can use mini-beams, which are thick tongue-and-groove boards (pine). The building will stay warm with a blazing grill fire in all weather conditions. Classic grill houses are made in the form of a hexagonal structure with the following area:

  • 6 m²;
  • 9 m²;
  • 11 m²;
  • 16.5 m².

Grill houses built in Russian conditions do not have too flashy cladding, and their cost is the lowest. Finnish grill houses look very fashionable, and they are more expensive. The building can be used as a guest building, a summer garden structure, equipped with a special oven for a grill house.

Using the heat of the stove, you can turn the building into a sauna or a room for spa treatments. From the outside, a built grill house often looks like a small building, but it can accommodate about 10 people at the dining table. For overnight stays, folding benches can be used as a sleeping place.

Regular ventilation of the room where the Finnish grill is installed will prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. Grills in the UK are provided with wooden decks (patios) on which the structure is placed. They provide air exchange in the room and maintain the flame of the device. Finnish barbecues are equipped with a pipe for the air duct. The hole for it has a diameter of at least 20 cm.

In the center of the house there should be a multi-level Finnish grill with an exhaust hood and a smoke duct. Folding benches are installed along the walls, which, if necessary, can be converted into sleeping places. For grill houses, you will need to install a double sandwich chimney. Ventilation gaps are provided in the roof vault to ensure the best air exchange.

Do-it-yourself installation of a house can be done on various types of foundations. If the base is columnar, then there remains a gap between the walls of the structure and the ground. This eliminates the need to build air ducts, since nothing will interfere with the free penetration of air. If the base of the house is a concrete slab, then air duct pipes with a diameter of more than 15 cm should be laid in it.

Arrangement of grill house structures

If you increase the size of the grill house, the building will be more comfortable for leisure activities. With large windows, you can allow yourself to contemplate the views or enjoy the view of the landscape. Finnish gazebo designs are suitable for those site owners who prefer the Scandinavian charm of shapes and proportions.

The whole family can relax in this grill house. It comes equipped with a Finnish outdoor oven for preparing delicious meals in the open air. In the room you can provide special places not only for adults to relax while watching TV, but also for playing games with children.

You can build a small house with a barbecue for your dacha or a whole barbecue complex with a barbecue on your own. The help of a construction team will not be needed, and the cost of construction will be 2 times lower. If you need to build a grill house, then you should think about how to make it cheaper by using the services of professionals.

Since the house will install not only a stainless steel smokehouse and do-it-yourself cold smoking equipment, but also a Finnish stove, you won’t have to save much on purchasing materials. All the nuances of construction technology must be observed, since Finnish quality requires considerable costs. If you do not follow the step-by-step instructions when performing work and do not take into account all the dimensions that the drawings contain, then it will be impossible to avoid problems in the future.

The designs of grill houses, whose country of origin is Finland, allow you to cook food right in the building itself. It can be used not only in winter, but also in summer. For the construction of grill houses with a hexagonal shape, various types of wood are used. In certain cases, structures can be equipped with windows of various shapes.

The basis of the building is usually a reliable foundation made of high-quality materials. In the center of the Finnish gazebo with grill is typical equipment for cold smoking with your own hands. In most cases, this is a universal stove.

The designs can be supplemented with Finnish barbecues or standard smokehouses. The roofs of traditional grill houses are raised triangles of wood. On the surface of the roof there is a chimney connected to a Finnish stove in the garden house.

Preparing for the construction of a grill house

During the construction of a Finnish grill house, all rules, as well as safety precautions, must be strictly observed. The building is similar to an ordinary gazebo, so the rules for its arrangement are similar. The only difference is higher fire safety requirements when using Finnish barbecue grills, since they are located in a closed building.

Since grill houses are needed for cooking food in winter and summer, you will need to simultaneously equip not only an oven for cold smoking with your own hands, but also a dining area. In the cool season, the Finnish grill-gazebo can be used both for cooking and for heating the room. This allows you to create comfort in the building for relaxation.

In general, the construction of brick garden houses requires the use of high-quality building materials. If any components do not meet the operational requirements, then using a Finnish gazebo with a grill will be very unsafe due to the presence of an open source of fire. Grill houses, like other types of structures, require the preparation of a set of tools, these are:

  • axe;
  • screwdriver;
  • roulette;
  • shovel;
  • square;
  • chisel;
  • hacksaw;
  • drill;
  • hammer;
  • screws.

Each of the above tools should be useful to a certain extent in the process of building a Finnish house with your own hands. Before erecting the structure, you will need to prepare all the materials, which is the next important step to begin construction of the structure.

Great attention should be paid to the selection of high-quality materials, since the reliability of the future grill house depends on it. The list of required building materials can include:

  • door;
  • lining;
  • insulation;
  • fasteners;
  • sand;
  • crushed stone;
  • gravel;
  • curb stone;
  • paving slabs;
  • double glazed windows;
  • waterproof OSB board;
  • wooden beam;
  • edged board;
  • roofing tiles;
  • plastic tube;
  • decoration elements;
  • oven with barbecue;
  • device for cold smoking;
  • Finnish grill.

Wood treatment can be done using Pinotex, which is a special protective impregnation agent for wood. After preparing all the above building materials, you can begin work without fear.

Initial stage of construction

How to build a house? The location of the Finnish gazebo with grill is of fundamental importance. For your home, you should choose a comfortable place near the main building. In general, the barbecue building should be placed in such a way that it is convenient to move between all the buildings of a personal plot or dacha area.

The selected place where it is planned to build a grill should become the permanent location of the Finnish barbecue gazebo. In order to move the structure, it will need to be dismantled. This may cause some problems.

Before laying the foundation, it is necessary to mark out the area to be built. The perimeter of the construction site for a mini house or gazebo usually has an oval shape. In this place, you will need to begin laying the foundation in the future. The recommended procedure should be followed:

  • on the marked area it is necessary to remove the top layer of soil;
  • the cleared area should be covered with sand, crushed stone and gravel;
  • the building material used must be compacted;
  • The plastic pipe for blowing is laid in advance.

Upon completion of the marking work, you can begin further stages of construction. It is necessary to take into account that when barbecue houses are actively used in winter, the site is strengthened with reinforced cement-concrete screed. After completing the construction of the foundation of the future structure, you need to build a frame for the garden grill house. For these purposes, 6 support beams of the following sizes are installed:

  • length - 2.5 m;
  • cross section - 100x100 mm.
  • length - 1.5 m;
  • cross section - 80x80 mm.

The fastening should be repeated in 3 places:

  • above;
  • in the center;
  • below.

After all the steps have been completed, you need to very carefully measure the angle between the fastened elements using a square. As a result, the indicator should be equal to 60°. The bars must be fastened using metal corners, screws and an electric drill. After the base is completely ready, additional beams are installed, which are required to create windows and doors.

How to make a roof for a grill house with your own hands

Since garden houses made for a dacha must be of high quality, at the penultimate stage it will be necessary to equip a reliable roof structure. The frame for a small house is pre-assembled. Prepared boards are used in advance, the cross-section of which is 50x100 mm.

Since Finnish gazebos can have hexagonal roofs, to arrange a full-fledged structure you will need to build a frame with 6 corners. The internal diameter of the formed hexagon should be positioned in proportion to the pipe coming from the barbecue, stove or other type of fireplace.

The main connecting element of the roof with the building is the rafters, made of boards of the same section. The material should be similar to that from which the roof over the house was made. To ensure tighter contact of the rafters with the hexagon, the ends of these parts should be cut at an angle of 30°. For each pillar of the building there are 2 pillars, which can be secured using metal corners and screws.

In general, the stability and strength of the building structure can be enhanced through the use of nuts and washers. To protect wood from rotting and destruction, you can use Pinotex. The sheathing of the building can be made of water-resistant material - OSB boards. It is recommended to line the inside of the walls with clapboard.

After completing all the work on the outer part of the gazebo, you will need to place in the center of the building a pre-purchased fireplace for smoking, frying and other cooking operations. After the walls of the grill house are made, windows and a door should be installed. The grill house must be equipped with a door with a window, which is an important attribute of Finnish mini gazebos. Relax, bake food, smoke meat and fish using the roaster in the grill house, for the benefit of your own health!
